SESSIONS

Wednesday, June 5th

Day 1

9:00 am - 10:00 am

Keynote Address: Cybersecurity: “It’s Not Personal, It’s Strictly Business”

Session Description:

Contrary to the “wisdom” of the quote from The Godfather, our businesses, the people we employ, the patients we serve, and the environments we operate within, regularly blur the boundaries between our business and personal lives.  The same is true with the subject of cybersecurity.  In this opening session, we will explore the reality of how, for the threat actors and those impacted by their actions, cybersecurity is blurring those lines once again.  We will demystify the complexity of cybersecurity for organizational leaders and determine to take actionable steps that will lead our organizations to safer, more secure environments for our patients, team members and their families.

Speakers:

1B. Population Health for IT

Session Description: Population Health is generally defined as having three components: health outcomes, patterns of health determinants, and policies and interventions. Cybersecurity is no different and serves as the Quality and Medical Records part of IT. In fact the structure of a healthy and reliable cybersecurity program looks very similar to a healthy and reliable clinical program. We encourage you to join us as we look at the building blocks for what makes a high performance and reliable cybersecurity program. During this session we will look at how to integrate cybersecurity into the broader risk management program along with the role Clinical and Operational Leadership have for cybersecurity. A good cybersecurity program is very similar to a good population health program; the context and interventions are just different.

1C. A Table Top of Issues

Session Description:

Do you know what to expect if there was a security event at your organization? What are you accountable for, how do you continue operating, and who do you call if the Ghostbusters aren’t available? Join us for this table top exercise, a low-stress interactive simulation of an emergency situation; please note the interactive part. Yes, we’re talking to you.

During this session we will have an interactive group storytelling session; like corporate D&D, without the dice. The moderators will present a scenario and ask for your group’s response, with additional information or issues introduced as we go along. The goal is not to stump you, but to help you think about what you should do during an outage or emergency along with what are you dependent upon, and what you would do if that system or process was unavailable. Just remember, if HR stops by we aren’t actually playing games; this is serious grown-up stuff.
