GS2. Caring for the Professional Caregiver During Crisis (All Providers)

Session Description: Professional caregiving is already a challenging task.  Healthcare has been facing particularly difficult times with financial and regulatory uncertainty in recent years.  In 2020, we've encountered a new opportunity to deepen our emotional intelligence, mindfulness, and resilience that will allow us to not only survive but actually thrive through these, and other, circumstances.  This presentation will review the literature related to the moral distress, moral injury, and various forms of trauma professional caregivers are facing in our current reality and practical solutions for building greater resilience and post-traumatic growth in ourselves, our teams, and those whom we seek to serve.

4a. Medicare: Audit-Proofing Your MCR Documentation (MCR)

Session Description: Do you fear ADRs, payment reviews and recoupments? Medicare agencies have multiple regulations to juggle in a normal year, but with the pandemic’s emergency waivers thrown in the mix, it’s easy to overlook something. This session will cover how proper documentation will alleviate this fear as you learn strategies to prevent the largest majority of Medicare payment recoupments. Jennifer brings an insightful overview of Medicare documentation requirements that will help you refocus and double check Medicare Coverage and Payment requirements including CoPs, ADRs, TPE, RCD, COVID implications, survey readiness, and Emergency Preparedness Plan documentation.

Session Description: Starting a private-pay business line can be a daunting task if you do not know where to begin. In this presentation, the learner will be able to identify the various models of private pay revenue and the key elements for a successful private pay line of business. The learner will hear strategies on how to start a private-pay line of business for their agency, make changes along the way as needed and implement the plan with success.

Digital Marketing has become a necessary staple for healthcare agencies during this time. This session will explore common and new ways to leverage digital marketing strategies to attract new clients, engage current clients, and stay relevant in this new virtual climate.

Session Description: Have you checked your PEPPER? Did you even know you have a PEPPER? CMS uses PEPPER as a guide for auditing and monitoring efforts. Although it does not identify improper payments, it can be used to identify practices that may lead that way. Petria will assist you in utilizing the PEPPER for identifying and correcting behaviors before the Review Choice Demo and before the next round of TPE.

Emergency Preparedness is not new; however, there have been updates and refreshers and Idalia will present all aspects of what agencies should know, update and be prepared for as hurricane season is well upon us and agencies not only are dealing with this reality but COVID 19 as well. Join us for an updating and informative session!
